Admittance and professional indemnity insurance

1. Admittance as German lawyer (Rechtsanwalt)

The German lawyers (Rechtsanwälte) of our law firm have all been admitted according to the law of the Federal Republic of Germany. They are members of the Karlsruhe chamber of lawyers (Rechtsanwaltskammer Karlsruhe):

2. Professional Indemnity Insurance

Our professional indemnity insurance is held with ERGO Versicherung AG, Bezirksdirektion: Victoriaplatz 1, D-40477 Duesseldorf.
The geographical validity of our professional indemnity insurance does not cover activities outside the Member States of the European Union and claims against the insured which are claimed in front of non-european courts. Further, the coverage does not comprise activities of any kind over offices which are established or upheld in foreigen countries, in connection with the consultation about extra-european law,
of the German lawyer in front of non-european courts.

3. Regulations regarding German lawyers (Rechtsanwälte)

The relevant professional regulations inter alia include the Federal Lawyers’ Act (Bundesrechtsanwaltsordnung – BRAO), the Rules of Professional Practice (Berufsordnung), the regulations relating to accredited specialist lawyers (Fachanwaltsordnung) as far as applicable, the Lawyers’ Statutory Fees Act (Rechtsanwaltsvergütungsgesetz – RVG) and Code of Conduct for European Lawyers (Berufsregeln der Rechtsanwälte der Europäischen Union CCBE). 4. Outside court mediation

In case of disputes between German lawyers and their clients, it is possible to apply for an outside court mediation by the regional chamber of lawyers (Rechtsanwaltskammer) Karlsruhe or by the arbitration board (Schlichtungsstelle) of German Lawyers at the Federal Chamber of Lawyers (www.brak.de).

Applicable law and general terms and provisions for mandates

Our law firm uses general terms and provisions for mandates (Mandatsbedingungen). They are provided under Downloads. If you consider to mandate our law firm, please use the contact form to get in touch with us and we will tell you the code word. The lawyer-client-relationship (Mandatsverhältnis) with our law firm is in any case subject to German material law, exclusively.
